Growing Up With Destiny

Having A Daughter

I am so blessed to be a mother.  I am so blessed for the daughter that God has given me.  I prayed for each of my children before we met and I always marveled at the beauty of them and that God thought so much of me to be their mother.  I hope that I never took the honor for granted.

Three boys and One girl.  These are a few of the gifts ordained for my life.  Thank You, God.  As a mother, I have grown up.  I have grown in ways that I never knew would happen.  I have learned things about myself that no one could have prepared me for.  My daughter has helped me to remember who I am and who I am supposed to be.  She has shown me the girl I wanted to be but did not have the courage.  I sometimes say that "I am going to be just like her when I grow up."  Thank you for showing me my truths.  Thank you for being a beautiful influence in my life.  Thank you for your love and strength.  Thank you for your beautiful and kind heart.  I love the person you are and still growing to be.  Thank You, Lord, for all of it.  Thank You for loving me first.  Thank You for the direction and instructions on being a mother to this girl and showing me the woman You ordained me to be.  Please forgive me for allowing anyone or anything to interfere and bring confusion to our blessings and gifts.

Destiny is always showing a pleasant expression.  She seems to be a thinker.  She is a reader and a bit of a researcher.  She likes facts, details, and history.   Somehow she is a geek.  She has technical skills and she seems to understand technology without any instruction.  Destiny is layered with many interest and talents.  She reads music and plays her guitar occasionally.  She purchased her own beatbox and dabbles around with creating music with beats.  She is a writer and an actress.  She loves singing and dancing.  She is a fighter for women's rights and black lives.  She has written letters to the editor of Teen Vogue and other news outlets about the bias treatments of black people.  She has gone on rallies to protest for gun violence.   She is a girl driven by clarity about who she is and who she wants to be.  I am so proud that The Lord thought so much of me to be her mother.

Beyond these beautiful facts, a few simple pictures of a little girl and her pretty cool fashion moments through the years...

There are so many photos over the years to share.  It's always fun for me to look back and reflect on a life in progress and appreciate every day as a blessing and try my best to be present and in the moment...  Time is fleeting.  Time passes so fast.  I hope to enjoy life and not miss as much as possible.  My blog and vlog are about my life and this will organically pop-up in everything I share.  I, of course, hope that you enjoy.
